How to run a Secret Santa without emails
- Enter the participants, one per line. Add exclusion pairs (like couples or last year's matches) as “Name & Name”.
- Click Draw names — the generator finds an assignment where nobody draws themselves or an excluded partner.
- Click Print slips. Cut, fold along the dashed line without peeking, and hand each person the slip with their name on the outside.
Why no email addresses?
Most Secret Santa websites work by collecting every participant's email address and mailing out the assignments — which means a gift game turns into a data-collection exercise, and grandma needs an inbox. Paper slips are how Secret Santa worked before the internet, minus the drawing-your-own-name problem. The draw happens in your browser, the results go on paper, and no one's contact details go anywhere.
How do exclusions work?
An exclusion pair like Anna & Ben guarantees the two won't be assigned to each other in either direction — typical for couples, siblings, or people who already exchange gifts. You can add as many pairs as you like; if the constraints make a draw impossible (for example in a very small group with many exclusions), the generator tells you instead of silently failing.
Can the organizer take part?
Yes. Fold the slips without reading the right-hand side (it takes honest discipline and about ten seconds), or hand the printed sheet to someone who isn't participating. For the fully paranoid: use the on-screen reveal mode and look away between turns.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The draw runs entirely in your browser — names never leave your device, and the page works offline once loaded.
